A little garden visitor.......

Whats this mum? Sniff Sniff........

Hello.......we have a little visitor in the garden.......

I knitted this little rat for my daughter on the weekend and could not resist having a fun photo shoot in the garden. The yarn is ....... Patons Heirloom in 5 ply for the clothes, and Moda-Vera pure wool also in 5ply for his face.

I used 2.75 mm knitting needles and a 2.5 crochet hook for the ears.

The main pattern comes from a very old book of mine in the Family Circle Treasury books. It was originally a mouse but I changed the ears and face a bit to make it a little rat.

Do you recognise this plant? It's the celery that was originally growing on my kitchen window sill. It is growing beautifully outside in the garden now. :-)

Trying to find a place to nap in his little sleeping bag...... the lettuce is not so comfortable......

The Yarrow it turns out is quite perfect.........

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Happy crafting  xoxoxoxox

Purple

Its all a bit purple around here this week. A nice change from my usual greens for most I am sure. :-)

The purple wrap cardigan is almost there. I am halfway through the second sleeve.  And what is this you ask?

Well, I needed a present for someone and I wanted to make her a shawl. Purple is her favourite colour , soooooooooooo, another project was started. hehe. This is the Aphrodite shawl and I am enjoying making it although I find the use of a large hook a little odd as I am so used to my tension being tight and this is very loose.  Its whipping up quite quickly which is great!

And I really did behave myself and finish something first. I finished the Bellflower Scarf and really did not like the join. Although it joined neatly, the fact that my first row was a lot tighter than the last made it look like this......

No amount of stretching was fixing it. The one other problem was the fact that I used 8ply yarn instead of 10ply and while it looks nice, it is not really wide enough to used over the head. So after taking these pictures I went ahead and undid the join and added one row of the third row pattern to the start end. It will be used as a plain scarf instead.

Hoping to have at least one more ta-dah in the next couple of days. Hugs and smoochies xoxox

We are having a little Crochet along on our Ravelry group "Everything Zen" this month. We are making the Bellflower Infinity Scarf

The pattern is really easy and works up quickly.  It calls for 10ply yarn but I am using 8ply Moda Vera. I think it would work up well in most yarns.

A little Ta-dah - finally...

After much laying around, I finally sewed this little cardigan together and gave up on the changing of the front edge. I was not 100% happy with the way it looked and am thinking that next time I am faced with such an edging I may need to up a needle size. OR not do such an edging to start with. I think I prefer a wider edging anyway :-)

This pattern called for Ribbon through the middle to tie in a bow. I did not like that idea either and decided to make a little crochet chain instead. Working one row of sc along the chain and sewing in the ends.  I quite like the way it curls up.

I then added two little flowers to the edges to fancy it up a bit. Ahhh looks much better now. Now I don't even notice the edging at all.

The pattern is from The Debbie Bliss Baby Book and the decorations are my own.

The yarn is 5ply Patons Heirloom. This was a quick and easy knit with the main part of the pattern being very simple. As I said, other than that I would change the front edging to add a little border and probably some buttons.

Hope you are having a wonderful week. Hugs and smoochies xoxox

WIP Wednesday....

on Tuesday night but who's fussy? I could not wait to show you that I finished something, well almost. I finished the sock without sewing down the picot edge yet. Just the one but its a start. Drum roll please...........here it is......

I also sewed the little green baby cardigan together and am trying to decide how I will decorate it. Not really loving the way it turned out as the edging looks odd. I tried to crochet around but its a bit tight so took it off again. Will maybe add a flower or a button and show pics tomorrow.

Up date

Hello my lovelies, I thought I should pop by and let you know I am still alive and such.

I still of course have not managed to finish any of those projects on the go. I have been a bit too busy with family, gardening, weekend courses and life in general.

There has been a little progress on my ongoing projects. I have worked a little on my daughters coat. A little on the socks........not really loving the socks...I probably should have chosen an easier pattern for my first time.....hmmmm

I started working on the heal section last night, as you can see I have not really picked it up much at all since last time.

This on the other hand has grown quite a bit.......

I have also been working on another poncho. Will take some pics of that one later.

My lack of blogging here has seen me posting more on my other blog. The link is in the sidebar for those who are interested in my every day ramblings.

Have a wonderful day everyone. Happy crafting.
