It sure has been a while..........again. I am hoping to remedy that and share my crafting adventures a little more often.

Today I finished an MCAL project...he is kinda cute so could not resist showing him off.

He started off rather strangely we had no idea what it was… it kind of looked like a head but the nose was on top so maybe a turtle?

I did not get much further than this and had to go away for a week. I thought when I got back I would catch up no problems. I thought wrong I ended up with a terrible toothache that had resulted from some dental work I had done a couple of weeks before. Sadly my body had decided to reject the the work and I had to have my tooth extracted. It of course did not want to come out so after a bit of a struggle on the dentists behalf….I ended up in a bit of pain for a couple of weeks.

While I wasn't catching up, I was watching what everyone else was doing and the guesses were getting better all the time. I honestly thought we were making a dinosaur and someone else said a dragon around the same time my daughter took one look laughed and told us who it was. I did take that guess and put it to the group and she got it right.

Two days ago I starting cramming to get this done. I am feeling a lot closer to normal again and more like getting my hands on yarn. Yesterday I had this….

Its a little hard to see all his bits because he is so white. Can you tell who he is? I think he kind of looks like our old pet Nimrod who was an axolotl. He was also rather pale in appearance so the resemblance was rather striking.

Of course he is the wrong colours but hey it was a mystery CAL after all and we all had no idea what we were making. He is a dragon….a rather white one… when he should really be black :-)

His name is "Toothless" aka Night fury from How to tame your dragon. Quite ironic considering the timing here. haha. My family thought it was a little funny. If I had not been in so much pain I would have probably laughed a little harder.

All in all, he came out really cute. I even won a prize for guessing who he was. My daughter has claimed him as her prize as she reckons that is fair. LOL. I think she might have a fight on her hands when the kids come over. After all she is nearly 26 years old. Apparently though he will match her bed nicely.

Have a beautiful day my friends. Love to all. xoxoxo
Nice and easy and the yummy squishiness of the yarn did not go astray either.

Here is my youngest girl showing off her new birthday sweater…

The yarn is Bendigo Woollen Mills Athena and in this size took only 2 balls. Very pretty and super soft too. I am currently working on another of Ela's designs, this time for myself.

What are you knitting/crocheting right now? Xmas gifts are very much on my mind but I keep changing my mind about what to knit or crochet for who. Ahhh decisions decisions….have a wonderful week everyone.

Love and light to you xoxox

Hello my friends, its been a while again. A rather busy year with plenty of extended family dramas to keep us busy. Sadly both my brother and sisters relationships broke down which meant lots of changes for both of them and their children. Lots of tears and hugs were shared and major moves and adjustments have now been made. Life was just down right sad despite my usual positive outlook on things. I did not feel much like blogging. I am trying to get my mojo back and thought I would start with some exciting news.
Last week I was privileged to attend the birth of my new nephew. My husbands brother and his wife are proud new parents of this gorgeous little guy. And my niece is super proud of her new little brother She cannot get enough of cuddling him.

Here he is wearing a little beanie whipped up by his Aunty K partly on the trip to the hospital and finished on the day after he was born…..
I hung around for the first week until he was settled in and then had to come home to catch up with my own life and chores. They live about 3 hours away from us so we can't just pop in for quick visits.

Today is my youngest girls birthday. She is 23. Wow the years have flown. I just finished a sweater for her yesterday. No time to block it but will hopefully share some pics and linky love once she tries it on later today. Here is a sneaky peek….

Hello World……from the slackest blogger on the planet. Remember me? She with great intentions to keep the blog updated who rarely ever shows up? Yes well. No excuses really, just lack of getting to it I guess. Good intentions aside, my internet time seems to get sucked up by Ravelry and Facebook and if I am lucky, checking out Ginny's Yarn Along once a fortnight or so, but honestly I don't get time to read all the posts as there are so many.

I have still been knitting and crocheting. Gifting, donating and even selling a few of my hats. That was a first for me. This past month I have been working on a couple of shawls and a bunch of baby knitting and hats. I will just post pictures without linking today lest I run out of time.

Here is some of what I have been making lately…..

It is getting into colder weather down here so hopefully I will be catching up a little more often. The needles and hooks are as usual busy but the blogging time has suffered. I am aiming to update over the next few days with what I have been creating.

For today I thought I would show you the Spring Crescent Shawl I completed a couple of months ago. I only just managed to get some pictures of the finished result.

This was made for a crochet a-long and was an easy pattern to follow. I made some mods to make it longer in the middle section and to keep it lightweight.

I used Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply Cotton which is soft enough to have a nice drape.

This is a free pattern by Julie Aakjaer and you can find it here on Ravelry.
Good intentions to keep this blog updated aside, I have a house full at the moment and have been busy washing, cooking and visiting more than knitting. That said, I have been slowly working away at my Kallan Cape and its coming along nicely….

I only manage 2 or 3 rows a day but hopefully I will eventually finish. :-)

I also managed to whip up a few little baby things…..another stripy hat, some granny square pants and I finished that little Autumn Cardigan which just needs some buttons. Of course nothing in the stash appeals to me and I am considering pinching some off another Fo and switching them. Not sure yet…

And last but not least, I finished off the Spring Crescent Shawl. This was for a CAL on Ravelry, a bit of a practice run for the Crochet party coming up next month. I will share pattern details when I get some modelled shots.
In between my larger projects this past month I have been making little baby things for a friend. I picked up this book at the library the other day and could not wait to have a play with it. If the cover does not suck you in the cute overload inside will.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Autumn Leaves baby cardigan inside and could not wait to whip one up. It was coming along just nicely until row 18 when my instinct starts kicking in and saying no no thats not right. I probably should have listened but of course I went on knitting…...In all honesty, we were watching Twelve Monkeys with the kids, an oldy but a goody and I was paying more attention to the tv than looking at my knitting. A couple of rows were ripped back as punishment and then I finally stopped and hit ravelry for an explanation.

You can usually weed out an explanation somewhere if you look closely enough. Despite the fact that everyone is so damned nice and does not want to complain. sigh. Really I get it but its more helpful if you just pop something down in your notes to say what went wrong. I did find a couple that mentioned problems and then went over to the blog to compare notes.

This pattern is offered for free on the designers blog so I think its ok to spell it out. The instructions in the book are wrong. It has been rewritten on the blog to add the eyelets at the beginning of the row and also changes the use of skpsso to ssk. Much easier and neater too. That aside, the instructions on the blog are then missing the underarm cast ons and the marker placements are different. So if you don't know how to work without a pattern by yourself this one is probably going to confuse you to no end.

Needless to say, I do love this design (Its very cute!) and am just continuing on from here in without the pattern. I have placed the markers directly in the middle of each underarm and will work increases either side if and when I feel like it. Thats my plan and I am sticking to it.

It must be the name I tell you. Do you remember a certain other Autumn Leaves cardigan in the adult size I was working on last year? The one that required pretty much rewriting the whole pattern to get the leaves placed right? This baby was a breeze compared to that one. LOL

I just realised I never did get around to finishing the bands. Whoops, my bad. Must add that to my Feb, WIP pile.

Back to the book. "What to Knit when you are expecting". Its a beautiful book. Full of cute babies, gorgeous designs and the pictures are just lovely to look at. I am planning to buy a copy despite my little gripe here about this particular pattern because well the cute overload has totally sucked me in and I am going to have to give this one back to the library next week. :-)

Now I shall away and get back to it. Have a beautiful weekend all. Happy crafting!

Hugs xox
Such a lot of my yarn time has been devoted to knitting this past year. Not that I have not enjoyed it but I do like a bit of variety and my fingers have been yearning to pick up the crochet hooks again. So many projects were put aside in favour of getting test knits and gifts finished that I made a conscious decision that I would plan a crochet project and actually give it some attention.

So with that in mind I actually said no when asked to take on new knits (other than those baby knits of course but hey I can crochet or knit those, that is up to me). Anyway, when I noted that there was a warm up CAL coming up on Ravelry, I decided to join in despite the fact that the pattern was not revealed up front and I am generally not into the mystery CAL's, I committed and we got started…. I chose some acrylic blend type yarn that I got really cheap in an op shop. Not going to lie, I was fearful of wasting good yarn. That said it was working out quite pretty, but not knowing where it was going was making me a little nervous….

So imagine my relief when after starting, it was decided that we would be working on an actual pattern after all, and we put our projects aside and started again. Phew. After a vote was held, The Spring Crescent Shawl won out and we all started again. This time I chose some BWM Cotton in 4ply for the project.

Oh Look at me, blogging two days in a row! There is hope for me yet!! haha! How are we all today? Well I hope.

So what am I knitting this week?

I have been busy in between all my test knits and baby knitting working on this lovely pattern…
Kallan Cape by Tracey Lee.

I first saw this pattern when it was released and added it to my very long queue on Ravelry. Then when I saw this months KAL on the Budding Down Under Designers group was hosted by Tracey I saw it as a sign to get kicking with it.

I originally planned to make this in a forest green but then ended up choosing Mink in Bendigo Woollen Mills Luxury as the green would probably have not have gone with much. This is more neutral. So here is my effort so far…..

I did not get started till last week as I had to await my yarn arrival. I am sure I will not finish this by the end of the KAL but thats ok. I plan to enjoy it and finish it by winter. Maybe I will even get to wear it a little before I run away north as is my usual fashion when it gets too cold. LOL More likely, I will gift it, if I don't wear it. I know I will love it though. If you like a bit of cabling, this is the project for you.

The pattern is not charted but is very well written with the hood being a separate pdf. You can also choose to print the whole version or just the off rows. Separate documents are provided for both. I opted to knit the cape first and sew the hood on later. Alternatively, you can start with the hood and pick up your stitches for the cape if you prefer. I figured it would get a bit heavy and its rather hot here atm so I did not fancy sitting under all that wool at once. Hence starting with the cape. :-)

I took delivery of Woodland Knits this week. Its a beautiful book and I had been eyeing it off for a while. I was introduced to Stephanie's patterns a long time ago when my oldest daughter purchased a copy of her Woodland Hoodlet. It was way out of her knitting skill range and she opted to try and email it to me, somehow it got lost and deleted and despite planning to buy it again we never got around to it. I did promise to knit it for her though so hopefully this year I will finally get around to it.

There are lots of whimsical, magical and just down right cute patterns in this book. My only gripe with it is the almost consistent use of chunky or bulky yarn. Not very practical for those of us who live down under, especially on the coast. Just finding the yarn is a chore in itself. Great for people who prefer a quick knit I guess.

Anyway, that is not really reading is it? What I have been reading this week is the Ancient Future Series by Traci Harding. Or I should say RE-Reading….I have read them all twice before at least. I am onto the 3rd book in the series and enjoying them just as much as the first time I read them.

If you are not familiar with this series……you can find out more about it here.

I also just finished reading The Lost Child of Philomena Lee, by Martin Sixsmith, I read the whole book yesterday afternoon and have to say I was a bit disappointed.

The cover described it as "The heartbreaking story of a mother and the son she had to give away". I was expecting to hear both sides of the story and what happened to them both in general. It started out with the mothers story but once he was taken from her (she did not choose to give him away) at 3 years old, it pretty much tells the story of Michael's life and we don't really hear much more about the mother at all.

To me this book went into way too much detail about Mikes personal life. More than half the book is about his political career and his choice of sexuality. Way way too much information. In fact I became both bored, then disgusted (poor Mike is not telling this story, it is hearsay from other people in his life, a life I might add that he chose to keep private for reasons of his own). This book made me feel really really sad. So sad for his birth mother and even more sad for him.

As one who tends to read through the lines a bit, I feel like his adoptive family were more than likely not fairly portrayed in this book. I am assuming that they chose not to get too involved in the whole story themselves. The man had issues and of course there are two sides to every story.

I will leave it at that, just incase you choose to read it yourself. I won't give away the whole story. I would have liked to have read a little more about his birth mothers life and their search for each other rather than all the fluff which was really no-ones business but his own. Thats just my opinion anyway.

Now enough rambling from me today. You have a beautiful day.

Love and hugs xoox
I have been busy this past few weeks with a couple of test knits which I will share when I get some good pics.

I currently have two projects on the needles… a pair of Ribbon Curl Socks

which have been a little slow going due to having too many other things on the go at once and I have also cast on a Kallan Cape for a KAL in the Budding Down Under Designers group on Rav. Will share more on that one once I take some pictures. :-)

I am also making some baby hats for a friend and decided to just make a whole bunch and let him choose which ones he likes. So far I have these two…

The Hearts and Bows Baby Hat

and this little hat which was inspired by a pattern in Itty Bitty Hats by Susan B Anderson. I pretty much used her stripes idea but omitted the seed stitch band and added a row between each section and left off the pom pom. Its cute I think. And a great way to use up those odd balls and bits and pieces of nice squishy left overs.

Of course I am also working on some crochet projects which I will share another day. Its 5.30 am here atm and I have been up since 4.30am with my pets. One dog is scared of thunder so woke us up to come inside. It took me a good half hour to settle the other dog who is not scared but just wanted to play. I ended up putting her back out as she would not sit still. Now I have a dog and cat at my feet and the other one has only just settled back in her kennel. Seriously these pets are pushing it. I am not a morning person when I have not had enough sleep! On a lighter note, one of the birds decided that since the light was on so early it must be morning and starting whistling "If your happy and you know it clap your hands" as loud as he could. LOL Funny but not so much when everyone is asleep. Not me of course, I am here talking to you. :-)

I hoped you have faired better than I in that department. Have a beautiful day my friends.

Namaste xoxoxox
Just when we thought Spring had taken hold and summer was on the way, she does a turn around, the temperature plummets, the winds pick up and it rains too. On and off for weeks on end. So we took the opportunity to take some pictures of my latest efforts while it was not too warm to do so.

First up this is Jane........

Jane is a lovely easy pattern by Ela Torrente aka Modish Mom Knits and is available for purchase on Ravelry.

I have used less than a 100g of Do or Dye Luxury Yarn in Coastal Plain.

I won this yarn in a KAL a while back and I must say it was exquisite to knit with. Has to have been my favourite yarn in the last long while. I am very much loving the colour and the final result too.

But wait...there is more. Jane is not alone, Ela also has the pattern John along side. John is basically the same however, there are no eyelets for those who find them too feminine.

Either hat could be worn by boys or girls if one so desires. :-)

(you can find the pattern for John here.)

I have managed to knit 2 versions of John. One in Bendigo Woollen Mills Serenade in Green. I loved this one as the pattern shows up nicely and I think it looks a lot nicer than my other effort. Which is in Wisdom Poems Olive Grove. While the colours are lovely they are pretty much swallowing Ela's lovely design so I would recommend solid colours if you would like to knit either of these patterns.

I am hoping to fit in one more Jane when I finish up this months test knits and my sneaky projects which I will share later. :-)

If you are interested Ela is currently hosting a Knit a Long on her Ravelry group Modish People. Up until December 1st you can post your WIP's and FO's to be entered into her weekly give aways. She is offering a different one of her patterns each week and all posts are entered every week so you have a chance to win once a week. At the end of the KAL she will also have some other prizes too.

The pattern is nice and easy to follow and it makes a great hand bag knit.

I am thinking they would make great Xmas gifts too as they are quick to whip up.
Next up we have Love Street by Paula Henley aka Koru Designs. This is also a great pattern, easy to follow and a fun knit. I knit this one using another Do or Dye Yarn, Embers in Sparkle. The weather did not pick up the sparkles in the picture but I assure you it is very sparkly.
My Model had a plane to catch. She was off to visit her sister in Melbourne for a few days. I have a rather busy day ahead of me. Baby Photo Shoot tomorrow for a test knit and then visitors for the next few days. So aside from finishing up one more test knit, making a start on another, finishing yet another Umberto for my nephew and working on a pattern I have dreamed up... I do believe I have a wee bit of cleaning and cooking to do.

You might remember this one I made a while back.

Such a sweet little top/tunic and the original came in lots of sizes too.
The latest version is made a little wider so the sizing is a bit more versatile and can be adjusted using the I-cord at the top to pull it in and up. It also, as the name would imply has a row of hearts to sweeten it up. I have to say I am in love with this. I wish I had my own little girl to dress up in one.

Pictured here on both 3 1/2 year old and a 4 1/2 year old models is the size 3-5. Made with Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply cotton in Lilac with a little pink for the hearts.
I took on 2 test knits this month. I managed to get them both finished in just 2 weeks which whilst giving me a small sense of accomplishment also gave me sore fingers. LOL Of course I was knitting little things on the side so no wonder. Today I am going to share the little one with you.

Cute much? My model was simply delightful. She is pictured wearing the 6-9 month size. Worked on 3mm needles with Bendigo Woollen Mills Baby Wool, 4ply in Lemon. I added little wooden teddy buttons as I did not have any yellow buttons that looked quite right. Oh Ok I had plenty but I liked the teddies. They are adorable and were too small for the project I had intended to use them for. :-)

Hello my lovely bloggy friends. I hope you are well. Things have been just a little topsy turvy in the land of Karisma. Sad family happenings, illnesses and the usual drama's that evolve in life had me away for a little while. But there have been some lovely times as well and lots of FO's have finally been photographed to share. :-)

I had loads of fun one day with my little models. As anyone with children would probably know. Its a matter of taking lots and lots of pictures on the go if the models are very little and/or indeed a little stubborn when it comes to posing. The cuteness either way just melts me. I followed them around, jumped on the trampoline and even chased the bee's away. (Well I pretended to anyway, I love bees and welcome them in my garden). Anyway, without further rambling lest I scare you away, here is my first little model Miss 3 wearing Demetra.
Demetra Pattern by Sarah Elizabeth Schmidt is knit here using Passioknit Scandy Ayres Yarn in 12 ply which is an acrylic, mohair, wool, nylon blend. Its lovely and soft and very stretchy. The swing style of the top means it also is big enough to suit several sizes. Here is Miss 4 1/2 styling it with a matching Aviatrix by Just Jussi.
It's a pretty quick knit and the pattern is easy to follow. You will need to be prepared for just a little bit of sewing though to turn the hem and add the little pockets. A gorgeous little top, thought so well worth the effort.
Hello lovelies,

Just popping by to let you know I have not fallen off the planet or anything so drastic. After arriving home from our big trip away and unpacking and trying to get back into the swing of everyday life, I managed to forget about updating the blog. But I have been knitting.. and knitting... and knitting some more. My fingers are sore :-)

I have finished a few little things in the past couple of weeks and have a photo shoot planned for next week. So will hold out to FO share pictures until then. The little sneaky peaks here of the yellow yarn is a test knit for Whirlsie Designs. A Mini Taliesin which is ever so cute. I just want a baby to fill it up. Yes I do. Well a grand baby would be nice anyway.

I took delivery of a bunch of yarn last week and have been very very good and just admired it rather than cast on something new. The temptation has been killing me. Especially since those two at the front are my first hand dyed yarn deliveries and I am so looking forward to trying them out. The neutral yarns are intended for dyeing. I just need to get the courage to get started now. I have been wanting to try dyeing with natural plants for a long time but never quite got to it. I have some tansy flowers soaking and am keen to try it the old fashioned way. But of course feeling a little nervous at the same time lest I stuff it up.

Just popping in for a quick minute to give you a sneaky peak at what I have been working on. First up... Demetra.....

The yarn is called Scandy Ayres and is an Acyrlic/wool/nylon/Mohair blend (Yes I actually bought something with Acrylic in it by choice. Wonders will never cease. To be truthful I did not check the label till I went to use it. LOL I have to say I am loving the flecks of colour and the softness of the finished product. Yes it is very almost finished. I need to sew up the hem and pockets but am waiting till I get home and block it before I take pictures to show you.

Next up, with all the rain and not much to do here in Byron this past week. I had a lot of time for reflection, dreaming and playing with yarn. I came up with about 3 different pattern ideas and this one is going to be a dress with different yoke and body options... here is a peek of the first one. You can't really see the pattern in the skirt properly but thats ok, don't want to give it away too early now do I?

My yarn options etc are limited here so I am using what I have and jotting down my ideas as I go. Lots of drawings but not much physical production with yarn. The skirt of this variation would be much better in a solid colour as it has a zig zagging pattern in it.

Anyway the sun has actually peeked out from behind all the clouds this morning and I am off to meet a friend for lunch. Take care lovelies. I will probably not post again till after I am home.

Love and light to you and yours. xoxoxoxox
Its raining again at our holiday destination, has been for most of our time here. Oh well, that has left time for knitting, crocheting and even some blogging time.

I have enjoyed my adventures into sock knitting once more. Only the 2nd pair I have ever knit and of course the first time using a circular needle. I had fun taking pictures along the way too. :-) There was knitting at the beach on those days where it did not rain....even if it was blustery windy and cold..

This one was taken on my phone. :-) Not long before the chilly wind whipped up and it was way too cold to stay out there. I had to make a run for the car.

The socks were a pleasant pattern to follow but I think I needed to make them a little shorter in the foot.

The toes are rather square and as the foot was a bit long they did not stretch to give them a toe shape if you know what I mean?

I will either give them to some one with a longer foot or pull them back a pattern repeat once I get home so they fit a bit better. (I like this idea better as I do love these socks).

The heel is quite bunched up too.

All in all, I love the lace pattern and the berry stitches that make up the rest of the sock.

It was hard to take pictures when one was wearing the socks, pictures do not really do the pattern justice.
Woopsy!

My fault entirely. I trusted that the pattern said 100g of DK and surely I had a little over 100g left of my BWM Luxury did I not? Well yes I did, in fact I am pretty sure that it should have been more than enough. Perhaps if I had used a smaller set of needles. Considering the pattern states this will fit an 18month to 2 year old. I did notice that it was looking a little big in the top section but my friends, the yarn felt so nice and squishy and I was tired and did not want to work on my fiddlier project of socks, so in my usual fashion I just said meh and kept on knitting.

I figured you see that I also had about 25grams of the white left over and I would use that for the bottom and the sleeve edging. I "thought" it would be enough. LOL I can just hear my hubby saying " Well, you know what thought did, don't you?" I won't tell you the other half of that lovely statement of his, its a bit rude. But anyways, as you can see, I ran out again.

So this little lovely will be waiting till we get home to be finished as I have some more of that white at home.

For now I am looking at this delightful bunch of yarn and wondering what to do with it....

You see in my haste to pack my bags I did not check the ply. It looks like DK but apparently according to rav it is 12 ply. I had hoped to make a larger Gidday and have some contrasting purple to go with it but not sure if it will work being 8ply and 12ply. Would probably not hold its shape at all. I am tempted to give it a go but don't want to waste it. Maybe I should knit a swatch using both colours and see what happens? Hmmmm that might make sense. :-)

Any ideas for something else I can make with this? Interesting that the yardage is the same for a 50g ball as the 8ply. I have 480metres of this and 400 metres of the purple. So I can either risk it or I can make something different out of each of them. Oh decisions decisions!

Have a beautiful day my friends. Love and light to you xoxoxox
A quick and enjoyable knit with great results. Pattern is well written and easy to follow. As you can see it can also be worn in various ways. A great addition to your beanie/hat family. Enjoy!
I guess its not really a FO till it has a partner hey? Don't judge me, I am on holidays. Haha.. Introducing my very first attempt at knitting a sock using circular needles and only my second attempt ever at knitting socks.. My first Summer Strawberry is complete.....

It has been raining a bit here this week so I did have a full afternoon of knitting yesterday. I have also been working on the Shoots Beanie for Mymymy and plan to finish that off today if I can. Here is a sneak peak at how its been going.....

The lace pattern is easy to follow and is looking quite pretty as it knits up. I will share more about it when I am finished. Loving the feel of the Bendigo Woollen Mills Luxury yarn too. Its been a while since I used some. Its soft and kind of silky in your hands. :-)

My other WIP right now is a Facebook Page. I finally took the plunge and started one up. Not very exciting so far but I will be posting pictures etc on there as I knit/crochet and hopefully eventually selling some goodies and patterns via the page. All a huge WIP though as I still have a lot of work to do to get it all going. If you would like to follow along the link is Karisma Knits on facebook.

Now I am off to work on that beanie before the kids all wake up. The sun is shining today so we will more than likely head off to the beach.

Have a beautiful day everyone. Hugs and love. xoxox
I had some lovely coffee and my yarn and camera along . It was so relaxing and despite being a little cool to start off with turned out to be quite a lovely morning. I made a friend....
As you can see I was very easily amused. It was a lovely morning and I throughly enjoyed myself. I even had a 2nd cup of coffee and was very excited to check into Ravelry and find out that I had won TWO prizes in different KAL's. One for the Sezza KAL and one from Just Jussi. How exciting! I love taking part in KAL's or CAL's as it encourages you to actually finish what you start and its fun seeing everyone elses progress and FO's as well. I have joined up for another one while I knit these socks. I am sure I will tell you more about them later on and share pictures when I get home.

Just a quick early morning hello from not so sunny Byron Bay this week. We have settled in to our accommodation after a few days of me be a bit of a sook. While our apartment is all very beautiful and fancy it is lacking in practicality and the thought of living for a month without decent cooking options and or a decent laundry had me almost in tears. 3 teenage boys who are constantly eating and making a mess (well two of them anyway) ....argghhhh. Was not feeling much like a holiday at first, thats for sure.

Me being me, I of course talked myself out of this rut and am making do by getting creative with it all and of course training the boogers not to be so messy. The oldest one has been a little quicker to learn than the other two but they are getting there with lots of reminders. Being positive and making the most of everything really does make one go with the flow much easier. It helps that this is just a short stroll around the corner too...... this is the less busy end of the beach and also the dog walking beach so lots of friendly puppies running around to greet you on your morning walks. :-)
Before the rain started we spent most of our time at the beach. I went shopping one day and bought some books and a pretty dress for $5...bargain. Yesterday we drove up to Queensland and took the kids to Movie World where my boys took great pleasure in introducing their friend D to the rides, so they are having lots of fun. The younger two have been snorkelling and body boarding every day and are loving the freedom of being able to just walk to the beach or shops when they feel like it. Their obsession over body boards and go pro accessories has me laughing a bit. Although I have a feeling my purse won't be laughing with me very shortly. ;-)

Anyway, this is the craft blog. I shall write more about our adventures on my other blog later. The rain set in a couple of days ago so I took one day out to just sit, relax and of course knit. I cast on Summer Strawberries by Sezza....... I have progressed a bit longer than this and will share when I take more pictures.....
I hope you are all well. I am off to make a cuppa and do a little more of my knitting before the kids wake up. I think the plan is to head to Broken bay today for some bush walking and more surfing/body boarding. Have a beautiful day all.

Hugs and blessings to you xoxox
What can I say? Even though I made the wrong size, the arms are a little wide, it still looks ok! Winifred..... I LOVE YOU!!! So comfy and yes I will make another in the right size before next winter. The measuring of the boobies went askew. The funny thing is I knew it at the time as I had measured a few days earlier but it went straight over my head. I mean really ones boobies don't grow 2 inches in a couple of days do they? Wishful thinking bahahahaha. I made extra decreases in the arms but they are still a bit baggy. Doesn't matter though. As I said, its comfy.

My mummy says I need to take a break from the knitting. She felt I took on way too much this month. She is probably right, however, one just does not take breaks from the knitting does one? Imagine not playing with yarn for a while. Oh dear!!!!

Excuse me while I go pack my crate for my holidays. I think I have narrowed it down to a crates worth anyway. :-)

Pattern: Winifred by Sezza Knits.

Yarn: Patons Dreamtime 8ply in Aqua. (I used 10 50g balls)
Happy Sunday lovelies. Have a beautiful day! Hugs xoxox
