Bliss Bomb Sweetheart....

Another test knit I worked on recently was the second version of Bliss Bomb for Mymymy Knitting. You might remember this one I made a while back.


Such a sweet little top/tunic and the original came in lots of sizes too.


















The latest version is made a little wider so the sizing is a bit more versatile and can be adjusted using the I-cord at the top to pull it in and up. It also, as the name would imply has a row of hearts to sweeten it up. I have to say I am in love with this. I wish I had my own little girl to dress up in one.

Pictured here on both  3 1/2 year old and a 4 1/2 year old  models is the size 3-5. Made with Bendigo Woollen Mills 8ply cotton in Lilac with a little pink for the hearts.

This pattern is not yet released but will be available for purchase real soon. I will link up once it is ready.

Taliesin.....

I took on 2 test knits this month. I managed to get them both finished in just 2 weeks which whilst giving me a small sense of accomplishment also gave me sore fingers. LOL Of course I was knitting little things on the side so no wonder. Today I am going to share the little one with you. 

Introducing Taliesin...the mini version.  By: Whirlsie Designs. 

Cute much? My model was simply delightful. She is pictured wearing the 6-9 month size. Worked on 3mm needles with Bendigo Woollen Mills Baby Wool,  4ply in Lemon. I added little wooden teddy buttons as I did not have any yellow buttons that looked quite right. Oh Ok I had plenty but I liked the teddies. They are adorable and were too small for the project I had intended to use them for. :-) 

A lovely design and pattern. Easy to follow and cabling is offered in written and graph instructions. 

The patterns for Adult, child and Mini versions are due for release in just a few weeks. Knit Knit Knit Knit

Hello lovelies, 

Just popping by to let you know I have not fallen off the planet or anything so drastic. After arriving home from our big trip away and unpacking and trying to get back into the swing of everyday life, I managed to forget about updating the blog. But I have been knitting.. and knitting... and knitting some more. My fingers are sore :-) 

I have finished a few little things in the past couple of weeks and have a photo shoot planned for next week. So will hold out to FO share pictures until then. The little sneaky peaks here of the yellow yarn is a test knit for Whirlsie Designs. A Mini Taliesin which is ever so cute. I just want a baby to fill it up. Yes I do.  Well a grand baby would be nice anyway. 

I took delivery of a bunch of yarn last week and have been very very good and just admired it rather than cast on something new. The temptation has been killing me. Especially since those two at the front are my first hand dyed yarn deliveries and I am so looking forward to trying them out. The neutral yarns are intended for dyeing. I just need to get the courage to get started now. I have been wanting to try dyeing with natural plants for a long time but never quite got to it. I have some tansy flowers soaking and am keen to try it the old fashioned way. But of course feeling a little nervous at the same time lest I stuff it up. 

Well I did cast on with the cotton. The Lavender one there but that is yet another test knit. This one for MyMyMy knitting.  Almost finished. Sneaky peaks only......

And last for a bit of crochet..... this is the first pic of a pattern I have been working on myself..... I need to make it in a plain colour as you can't really see the pattern in the skirt. I had to put it aside to finish the test knits but hope to get it finished by next month.

Drumroll please....I have a FO...

Well half a FO. I guess its not really a FO till it has a partner hey? Don't judge me, I am on holidays. Haha..  Introducing my very first attempt at knitting a sock using circular needles and only my second attempt ever at knitting socks.. My first Summer Strawberry is complete.....

It has been raining a bit here this week so I did have a full afternoon of knitting yesterday. I have also been working on the Shoots Beanie for Mymymy and plan to finish that off today if I can. Here is a sneak peak at how its been going.....

The lace pattern is easy to follow and is looking quite pretty as it knits up. I will share more about it when I am finished. Loving the feel of the Bendigo Woollen Mills Luxury yarn too. Its been a while since I used some. Its soft and kind of silky in your hands. :-)

My other WIP right now is a Facebook Page. I finally took the plunge and started one up. Not very exciting so far but I will be posting pictures etc on there as I knit/crochet and hopefully eventually selling some goodies and patterns via the page. All a huge WIP though as I still have a lot of work to do to get it all going. If you would like to follow along  the link is Karisma Knits on facebook.

Quick Hello

Hi there lovelies,

Just a quick early morning hello from not so sunny Byron Bay this week. We have settled in to our accommodation after a few days of me be a bit of a sook. While our apartment is all very beautiful and fancy it is lacking in practicality and the thought of living for a month without decent cooking options and or a decent laundry had me almost in tears. 3 teenage boys who are constantly eating and making a mess (well two of them anyway) ....argghhhh. Was not feeling much like a holiday at first, thats for sure.

Me being me, I of course talked myself out of this rut and am making do by getting creative with it all and of course training the boogers not to be so messy. The oldest one has been a little quicker to learn than the other two but they are getting there with lots of reminders. Being positive and making the most of everything really does make one go with the flow much easier.  It helps that this is just a short stroll around the corner too...... this is the less busy end of the beach and also the dog walking beach so lots of friendly puppies running around to greet you on your morning walks. :-)

Before the rain started we spent most of our time at the beach. I went shopping one day and bought some books and a pretty dress for $5...bargain. Yesterday we drove up to Queensland and took the kids to Movie World where my boys took great pleasure in introducing their friend D to the rides,  so they are having lots of fun. The younger two have been snorkelling and body boarding every day and are loving the freedom of being able to just walk to the beach or shops when they feel like it. Their obsession over body boards and go pro accessories has me laughing a bit. Although I have a feeling my purse won't be laughing with me very shortly. ;-)

Anyway, this is the craft blog. I shall write more about our adventures on my other blog later. The rain set in a couple of days ago so I took one day out to just sit, relax and of course knit. I cast on Summer Strawberries by Sezza....... I have progressed a bit longer than this and will share when I take more pictures.....

and another test knit for Mymymy Knitting. Here is a sneaky peak...again more is done but I have not taken pics as yet.....

I hope you are all well. I am off to make a cuppa and do a little more of my knitting before the kids wake up. I think the plan is to head to Broken bay today for some bush walking and more surfing/body boarding. Have a beautiful day all.

Cute much?

This is another test knit I did recently for Erin of Mymymy Knitting.....its called Bliss Bomb and is a plain tunic style top knitted in 8ply cotton. The pattern itself comes without the heart design shown in the pattern picture but Erin is working on having that added.  She has linked to a graph for those who wish to add them.  We decided to add some crocheted flowers instead this time. A quick and relatively simple pattern with an I-cord through the top. 

The pattern is also available in a 10ply version on Ravelry. 

My thoughts? Cute, very cute! :-)

This pattern by the lovely Sarah Ronchetti is still in the testing phase and will be up for grabs very soon. I will link to pattern once released. It will be available as either a sweater or a vest and looks fabulous either way.



The pattern is well laid out with step by step instructions so if you have not tried cabling before this would be a great pattern to start with. All instructions are clear and there is the option of using a graph or written instructions for the pattern panel.



Our Little Peanut here is wearing the size 3 version. As you can see its a perfect fit. (Despite the fact that she is 4 1/2 now. Petite little bunny she is.

This project used about 6 50g balls of Moda Vera Pure Wool in 8ply and was knit with 3.75mm needles. Giving it lots of stretch. It blocked out a a bit bigger than the initial size which I was worried might be a little small.


Its a beautiful sweater and it looks great on boys and girls.  I will be making more of them for sure.


We had a great time taking pictures. Isabella Pickles as per usual made an appearance in many of our shots. She wants to be a model too! :-)

Apart from playing with the dogs, which meant catching shots in between throwing the rather grubby ball around, we interrupted our busy photography schedule to stop and smell the daisies which are in abundance right now in our yard.

And all was perfect in the land of Karisma's Kraft.....well almost......








Being the honest types we better fess up to our mistakes hey?  To be honest,  I had taken on way too many projects this month and in my hurry to get things done, I had originally cast on for this project and knit knit knit away right up to the sleeve cast off before I realised I had made a mistake.  This mistake meant I had to start all over again. But thats okay because rather than completely frog it, I decided to keep what I had made and will improvise a little when I have the time and turn it into a smaller vest.   My mistake? I casted on the wrong amount of stitches. Yep 10 stitches less than I should have had. So my sweater was coming out way too small.......

A gentle reminder to myself to stop rushing and trying to get so much done at the same time.  Thankfully it all came out just perfect in the end. And I am currently working on only one knitting project. A cardigan for myself. The urge to cast on something else is ridiculous but I am trying to be strong I am!!!!

Catch Ups.....

Hello my lovely friends, long time no blogging seems to be my habit these days. I have missed visiting everyone and hope to catch up on all your posts in the near future.  The home renovations are nearly finished and I have moved into my new bedroom and settled in nicely. The kids have all moved into their various new rooms too and one room downstairs has become a gym for  them. My new craft room is almost there too. I have moved everything in except the sewing machines as I don't have a table yet. Hopefully will sort that out soon.

I have been knitting and crocheting quite a bit for swaps and/or test knits. I will just show you one this post and hopefully add some more later.

I did another test knit for Mymymy Knitting, a gorgeous slouch called Slouch in Motion in 10ply. You can check out her designs here on Ravelry. This pattern is available already in 8ply and the 10ply version should be up for purchase very soon.

I made the small adult size 55cm head circumference. I used about 85grams (Just under 2 50g balls) of Cleckheaton Country Naturals in 10ply. Absolutely lovely yarn to knit with.

This slouch is reversible too but sadly I forgot to take pics the other way round. Both sides look really effective with a slight different look to the pattern panel.

We love it, we do. :-) Gorgeous Gorgeous hat. I see another one coming up real soon in our future.
