Keeping Busy.....

I have been keeping very busy down here. Not a lot of time for my crafting as too much else going on but I have managed to finish a few projects which are awaiting a little sewing in of ends....

Another Aphrodite shawl, amazing how different yarn gives it a completely different effect.  Will post better pictures when I tie in all those ends. :-) Sneaky peak this time.....

This has been a work in progress, a blessing journal for someone I have never met in person. I hope she likes it. I had a little trouble with sewing the cover as I forgot to leave a flap seam allowance so the cover is a bit snug.  I sewed on the angel motif that I crocheted by hand. It was suggested I glue it but I could not bring myself to do that. Eeeek. And I have added the necklace I made a little while ago to tie it together.  I have also created a double page arty type spread and might do one more to get the blessings started for my recipient, can't show you that as its personal to the lady I made it for.

Hope all is well in your part of the world. Love and Light to you my friends. xoxox

Not enough yarn?

No worries... I seem to be in the habit of running out of yarn today. Not literally I guess, as there are like two cupboards full sitting right next to me. However, on the current project scale of things I could have been in a bit of trouble. My positive thinking though seems to have done the trick and I now have TWO FO's to show.

First up I was wanting to make a little scarf as a gift and for some reason my left over Noro sock yarn from the Amiga cowl kept sticking out at me (It was like "Pick Me Pick Me") . Of course I was not sure it would be enough but the nagging gut feeling to use it over rode the sensible side of me.

And lo and behold... I ran out of yarn but the results are still not too bad. Needs to hit the block but other than that I am quite pleased with it.

The pattern is from the book Crochet So Fine.

Next up I had about 3 1/2 balls of Moda Vera pure wool in 8ply and thought that would be enough for a baby cardigan. I have made this cardigan before so thought the bigger size might be ok. It was not. So I shortened the cardigan and the sleeves too. A little basic but the buttons spruced it up a bit. A quick and easy project anyway.

So like the buttons.. I am still smiling despite my lack of enough yarn. Life is good.

LIttle Winifred.....

I finished this little tunic while on holidays recently and have only just managed to get some pictures of it. Her ladyship, Miss Peanut was not wanting to take pictures today so I had to chase her around the backyard while she played with the dogs. About a hundred shots later we did manage to get a couple where you can see the pattern and the colour looks accurate.

The Yarn is Moda Vera Pure Wool 8ply Printed. Nice to knit with and they have some pretty colours.

The pattern is called Little Winifred by Sezza Knits. I used a larger needle this time as it was the only one I had while away and it came out a little big which is fine as it will fit her for a few years. Loved the pattern, easy to follow and very versatile as it can worn as a longer tunic or as a shorter top.

Little Winifred is knit in the round, with a bit of cabling at the front and a plain back.

If you would like to buy the pattern is available here. I have just discovered that there is now an adult version too. Looking just as lovely as the little girls one too.

Now I must away and play with her ladyship  .... HUWWY UP WISA HUWWY UP!

Have a beautiful day everyone. May your whole being be filled with LOVE and LIGHT. xoxoxox

Sky blue cardigan...

A friend passed on this pattern to me, it was from a kit with Mary Maxim 5ply, I however used one ball of Bendigo Woollen Mills Cotton 4ply in blue.

This only took me a few days to make. My son took the pics with my phone. Love love love it! :-)

Have a beautiful weekend everyone. Hugs xox
