Another little finished project.

This past couple of weeks despite my not having much time to play with yarn has actually been quite good for the works in progress. Not starting anything new had me actually getting things finished.

I was going to wait and take some decent pictures of this one but have decided to just show you the one I took with my phone as I have realised I just will not have the time. Another busy week is on the agenda at our house. So without further ado, I give you this.....

Yarn: Moda Vera Pure Wool Printed 8ply

Needles: 4mm DPN's

Flower: Crocheted by me.

A quick and easy project. Very sweet.

Busy times.....and a Purple Wrap....

Hello my lovely friends, how are we all? Things have been a bit hectic down here. But life goes on!

After all the visitors returned home, just over a week ago, two of my offspring got sick, then I came down with what I am not sure, sore teeth, sore bones and the worst bit my right hand stopped working properly. Using it for anything was painful and I am putting it down to the fact there was something tiny stuck in one of my fingers. After finally getting it out, it has gradually been getting better but if I use it too much it starts to ache again. Extremely frustrating to a knitter/crocheter as I am sure you can imagine!!

Juggling a not co-operating body and then a dog who has just been desexed and had a large lump removed from her rear end at the same time has been driving me slightly nuts. The cat keeps tormenting the dog, the other dog is miserable because her friend is inside and she is not (they have to be kept separate because of all the stitches. The child that was not sick before is now sick and won't go to school and the other one keeps trying to get out of his homeschooling and go to the skatepark every day, so yeah its still a bit crazy trying to hold it all together. LOL

That said, at rare intervals I was still able to sew a little bit. After cross stitching without it hurting too much, and after a couple of days of rest (in the hook/needle area) I finally got around to sewing this little baby together and then when my hand was a bit better I crocheted all the edging....

I was quite happy with the finished result and  I decided to gift it to one of my online friends who is expecting a baby. I thought it would be perfect for breast feeding on those cool nights. And as I just so happen to be going to meet her in person for the first time soon I have a good excuse for giving a present. So excited. Baby of course will get some goodies too but I think its nice for mama to have something just for herself. I hope she likes it.

This pattern is from a Patons Zhivago pattern book and the yarn is Duet in Mystic from Bendigo Woollen Mills. Very nice yarn to work with, lovely and soft.

I have also finished another little baby item but will show you that tomorrow. What have you been creating to lately? I hope you are healthy and happy where ever you may be.

Love and Light to you my friends.

Needles: 4mm DPN's

Pattern:   This is a free pattern by Heather Ramsay, you can find it here.

Also on the hook right now.......

Some little squares for puppy blankets. A lady put out a call as she is making blankets for an animal rescue  centre in Melbourne and I thought I would chip in. Its such a good cause after all.

I have almost gotten to the end of my to do list for my gift knitting this year. So happy as I am looking forward to just making something without the pressure of a deadline. LOL Two little baby bundles to finish and I am done. Then its time for some holidays! Excited!

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Love and Light my friends, keep well.   xoxoxox

Catching up.....

Its been a really busy couple of weeks around here. So many family events going on that not a lot of time has been left for playing with my yarn. While I did start a little knitted dress for a certain young lady who is about to turn 2, I have not had as much time as I would like to give it my undivided attention.  I needed something simple that I could cart around  lest I go mad without my yarn fix. Then I remembered that Miss almost 2's mummy had given me back her hexy baby cardigan I made when she was born. So I set to work and unpicked the edging and added a few rows to the hexagons before re-joining and adding some length. I kept it simple as I felt a full ruffle would take away from the colours.

I also changed the soft baby pink buttons to some polka dot buttons, more fun for a two year old. Hopefully she will get a little more wear out if it now.

Also in between that I made another hat for my daughter. I had initially made it bigger than mine but then she decided she would prefer it the same size and with less rim. We went with a different flower too. Its hard to tell in the pictures but the yarns are different too. Both Bendigo yarns, hers is Serenade  in Nut Brown and mine is Luxury in Mink.

I also managed to sneak in a bit of cross stitch when I did get a minute to sit down at home. Will share pictures when the picture emerges a bit more. At this stage it just looks a bit like random stitches. Hope all is well in your creative space!

Take care lovelies.

Christmas in July

Hello lovelies,

Just a quick post to say hi and to show you a little surprise I received in the mail the other day. I am part of the Krista Sista crochet group on Facebook and we had a little Kris Kringle fun in the form of Christmas in July. My Krista Kringle as we dubbed each other sent me this beautiful book mark and keyring which by the way is not going on my keys but has pride of place on the side of my hand bag......

The cotton is so fine and the work so beautiful. Needless to say I was chuffed. I sat and patted them for ages (LOL don't you do that?) and I even had tears in my eyes. I love them! I do!

It was so nice to be on the receiving end of a handmade gift. A rare thing for me. I am usually the one that is making the gift. I hope others feel the same when they receive a handmade gift. It really made my day. Someone I don't even know took the time to create this gift for me and I am so grateful!

Thank you to my secret KK. I love my gift. It will be treasured by me, thats a for sure. :-)

Love and Light to you lovelies. I will try and post my WIP's in the next day or so.
