Catch Up Post

A little catch up on what I have been up to this week.

I went op-shopping and came home with all sorts of goodies including this yarn....

I  also came home with loads of knitted coat hangers and books, lots of books. I won't bore you with those as for once none of them were crafty at all.

I made this purple kerchief from Ravelry (here is link to details).  The flower was my own design. Made it up on the spot.

I started this one a couple of days ago from Cute and Easy Baby Knits. I have finished the back, front and half a sleeve already.......... It is pretty easy provided you pay attention to the graph rows.

The yarn is Heirloom Dazzle - I have never used it before and while it is lovely and soft I am not 100% sold on it. (Its acrylic and we all know I am not the biggest fan of that now don't we?)

This little hat used one ball of the colourful yarn pictured up top there. Also from Ravelry although I totally changed the pattern to make it a shorter hat. The yarn is beautiful and no offence to the designer as the pattern is lovely and I really like it......but, I just could not bring myself to waste so much yarn for the length which really would not keep the wearer any warmer. I intend to add a tassle to this when I get the chance to make one.

With all that freeform going on earlier, and in between starting all these other projects I had been playing with my odd balls of yarn and am making a little something....I wonder if you can guess what it will be?

I started this one before the blue one but am unsure that I actually have enough yarn to finish it. According to the pattern I do but I am rather dubious. The hood is nowhere near done and then there are all the joining seams. I put it aside for a few days to ponder on it and decided whether I can sort it if I need to. This yarn is Bendigo Woollen Mills Allegro and I have to say it was a pleasure to crochet with. Very soft but clean stitching. None of the usual fuzz that most soft yarn has.....I want some more!!!!!

My reading this week has tended to mostly revolve around study......Lots and lots of this type of stuff......

So, what have you been up to this week? Have you been keeping busy?

Blessings and Joy to all

Hugs and smoochies xoxoxoxox

  1. I love that sweater pattern, I have made six of them. Yes, six. Great minds think alike. I was just thinking about that pattern today and how I would like to make another one for my friends toddler. We should do a CAL with that pattern. I will say that I had to change the hood to make the top cover the whole head. I think I could make that one in my sleep at this point. Lol. That book also has some cool toys patterns in it. Talk to you soon. :)

    1. I am going to have another look at it today. The hood was actually confusing me a bit as its different from others I have made.

  2. Dear Karisma, you are very diligent.. I am a bit jealous that I did nothing in this week and when I saw yours, you are very hardworking and you are making so beautiful things.. I like kerchief so much and expecially the color is so nice. And the flower which you designed seems so beautiful..
Well I think I will take my hook and my yarn just now and I will make some crochet.. (I said I am Jealous..))

    1. Thanks lovely. I must try and copy that flower so I don't forget how I made it. You just reminded me. You should make the kerchief too if you like it. It was very quick and easy to make.

  3. I never find yarn at my local op shops. I can occasionally find crochet patterns and finished objects but yarn either just doesn't get donated or disappears very fast!

It looks like you are very busy at the moment. Can't wait for the big reveals.

    1. It was a very lucky find. I found it under a bunch of fabric and they had quite a few bags. However the two I grabbed were the only ones containing pure wool. I don't find it often either.

Love the hat! The length looks nice, and with the tassel it will be just perfect.

    What is "op-shopping"?

    1. An op shop is what you would call a thrift store. A charitable organisation selling off donated goods to raise money for said charity.
