And then there were two....(finally)

Well it took me a while with everything else on the go, but I finally finished my very first pair of socks knitted in the round. I have knitted socks before on two needles with a seam but this was new to me. A little daunting with the first one, but only because I picked something with a pattern in it. :-)

I am pretty pleased with the results. What do you think?

The pattern is from Patons and can be found (over here) and is really quite simple once you get the hang of it. Would not recommend it for a beginner knitter though.

Knitted on a set of four 3mm DPN's with Araucania Yarn.

This project was my effort for the Sock CAL/KAL on Everything Zen on Ravelry. Click here if you would like to take a look at everyone else's efforts. And/or join our group. Go on, you know you want to. ;-)

(To those of you who saw this post half way there, a certain little kitty has taken to walking on the keyboard while I am typing. She somehow posted halfway through. haha. So helpful).

Curious Kitty is very enamoured with all of MY things. Yesterday we had a little chat about NOT helping with my crochet coat because really, I must get it finished soon! So she appeased herself with bouncing around the craft room and stealing balls of yarn instead.

I leave you today with much satisfaction in the Ta-dah department. :-)

Have a beautiful day my friends.

Love and Light xoxoxox

  1. I'm very impressed - sock knitting sounds so daunting! I love your new little darling. Makes me want a baby kitty myself - but I already have four older cats and my husband might kill me if I brought home another one!

    1. Thank you. It was really not that hard. My initial stuff ups were because I was not focussed on what I was doing. ;-) She is so precious. I think an older cat would have been far less work but she is worth it. She is actually Gemmas baby. I am just the nana but like a nana I seem to be doing most of the babysitting and the potty training this week. LOL Her mama forgot about school and work and her pre-planned trip away for the weekend.

  2. Love your socks. Some skill you must have, jumping straight in with a patterned sock for your first knit in the round!
Working on a pair of socks myself right now, cast on March 2011 I think.....
    Cute kitty.
